Senior (2024): Opened the season at the with a second-place finish in the weight throw with a personal best of 18.04m (59-2.25")... at the MLK Invitational (Jan. 20), she placed eighth in the weight throw (17.79m)... her best indoor shot put mark of the season came at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational (Feb. 9–10), where she threw 12.36m (40-6.75")... wrapping up the indoor season at the CUSA Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 23–24), the Sun Tan Valley, native placed seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 17.82m.
Junior (2023): Competed in six meets for the Aggies… opened the season with a sixth place finish in the weight throw at the TTU Corky Classic (Jan. 13-14), posting a mark of 16.66m (54-8”)… improved to a distance of 16.95m (55-7.5”), taking sixth at the New Mexico Team Open (Jan. 27-28); also finished 11
th in the shotput (12.78m [41-11.25”])… took third place in the hammer throw at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 3-4), tallying a mark of 52.94m (173-8”)… posted a personal best in the weight throw at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational (Feb. 10-11), taking 15
th with a time of 17.61m (57-9.5”) – the tenth best mark in program history… captured ninth place in the weight toss at the 2023 WAC Indoor Track & Field Championship (Feb. 24-25), posting a final distance of 17.14m (56-3”).
Sophomore (2022): Opened the season with a seventh place finish in the weight throw at the Corky Classic (Jan. 14) with a toss of 17.00m... Set a personal best in the shot put with a toss of 11.88 in the finals... Recorded a second consecutive top ten finish in the weight throw with a toss of 16.34m at the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational (Jan. 22)... Finished a season best ninth in the shot put with a toss of 11.48m at the New Mexico Classic (Feb. 4)... Took fifth place in the weight toss with a mark of 16.93m... Captured tenth at the Don Kirby Open & Elite (Feb. 11) with a toss of 17.22m at the weight throw... Set a personal best with a toss of 17.31m at the weight throw, placing third at the 2022 WAC Indoor Track & Field Championships and earning her a Second Team All-WAC selection.

Senior (2024): Moore opened the season at the Willie Williams Classic (Mar. 22–23), tabbing a pair of top-tein finishes in the discus (third, 49.44m) and eighth in the hammer throw (51.89m)... her best discus mark of the season came at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open (Apr. 19), placing second with a distance of 49.22m... concludign her outdoor campaign at the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 10–12), she tallied points with a personal best distance of 55.86m (183-3") in the hammer throw.
Junior (2023): Competed in eight meets for NM State… opened the season with a pair of second place finishes at the West Texas Spring Break Open (Mar. 18) in the discus (48.74m, [159-11”]) and the hammer throw (52.49m, [172-2”]); also took seventh in the shotput with a mark of 11.93m (39-1.75”)… improved to a distance of 48.81m (160-2”) at the Willie Williams Classic (Mar. 24-25), taking fourth place… set a personal record in the hammer throw at the Pacific Coast Invitational (Apr. 13), tallying a mark of 54.68m (179-5”) – the eighth best mark in program history… captured a trio of top-five finishes at the Willie Williams Classic (Mar. 24-25) – in the discus (first, 47.67m [156-5”]), hammer throw (second, 53.67m [176-1”]) and the shotput (fifth, 11.63m [38-2”])… capped the season with a runner-up finish in the discus at the 2023 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 11-13), posting a mark of 49.09m (161-1“); also took seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 52.79m (173-2”).
Sophomore (2022): Competed in eight meets during the outdoor season, primarily in throws… Opened the season with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw (51.55m) and an eighth-place finish in the discus (42.90m) at the Willie Williams Classic (March 18th)… Took fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.40m at the Aztec Invitational (March 24th)… Captured a gold medal finish in the discus toss (46.52m) and a third-place result in the shot put (12.76m) at the UNM Spring Invitational (April 7th)… Recorded a personal best distance of 50.87m en route to a tenth place finish in the discus toss at the Pacific Coast Invitational (April 14th), while also landing herself in second-place in the NM State All-Time Record Book… Set personal bests in the shot put (13.31m, 3
rd) and hammer throw (53.91m, 4
th), while also capturing first in the discus with a mark of 49.61m at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open (April 21st); distance in the hammer throw places her eighth in the NM State All-Time Record Book… Closed the season with fourth-place finishes in the discus toss (47.21m) and the hammer throw (51.53m), and an 11
th place outing in the shotput with a distance of 12.29m at the 2022 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 14th).
Freshman (2021): As a freshman, competed in seven meets for the Aggies and snagged 11 top ten finishes in the discus and hammer throws... Took home the discus title at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi with a personal best throw of 47.22m... Also threw a personal best in the hammer throw at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi with a mark of 50.07m... Finished second in the discus throw at the WAC Championships with a throw of 45.75m.
High School: 2018 and 2019 Arizona state champion in the discus... Finished second in the shot put at the Arizona State Championships... 2018 MVP in field events at Arcadia High School... 2019 MVP in field events at Queen Creek High School... School record holder in the Discus at Arcadia and Queen Creek... Was a member of the honor roll all four years in high school.
Personal: Makiya is the daughter of Kevin Moore and Michelin Smith... She has one sister, Mazaree... Makiya will be majoring in Kinesiology at NM State.
