2013 Indoor (Junior): Hightower competed in the 1-mile and the 3,000m for the Aggies in the 2013 indoor track and field season. Hightower ran her best 1-mile time at the Don Kirby Open (Feb. 9) and her best 3,000m time at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 1).
2012 Cross Country (Junior): Hightower competed in every event for the Aggies in the 2012 cross country season. Hightower's best team finish came at the Grand Canyon Invitational (Oct. 6) when she finished fifth for NM State and 16th overall with a time of 19:18.1 in the 5K. Hightower's best overall performance came at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 7) where she finished 15th overall with a time of 20:24.00. Hightower was invited to compete at the WAC Championships (Oct. 27) where she finished seventh for NM State and 37th overall with a time of 18:51.93 and the NCAA Mountain Region Championships (Nov. 9).
2012 Outdoor (Sophomore): Hightower was selected as an All-Academic athlete in 2012. Hightower spent the 2012 outdoor season competing in long distance events, particularly the 1,500m and the 5,000m, for the Aggies. Hightower posted her best time for the 1,500m at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational (April 6) and her best finish for the 5,000m at the 2012 Texas State Bobcat Classic (April 27). Hightower competed in five events in total for the Aggies in the outdoor season.
2012 Indoor (Sophomore): Hightower was named to the academic all-WAC team in 2012. Hightower participated in three events for the Aggies in the 2012 indoor season. Hightower ran the 5,000m at the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 23), the 3,000m at the New Mexico Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 27) and the 1-mile at the New Mexico Cherry and Silver Invitational (Jan. 20).
2011 Cross Country (Sophomore): Hightower received All-Academic Honors for the WAC in the 2011 season. Hightower ran in all but one event for NM State during the 2011 season. Hightower notched her season-best time of 19:13.9 at the Kachina Classic (Sept. 17), good for sixth overall and 17th overall. Hightower also posted an impressive time at the WAC Championships (Oct. 29) with a time of 19:24.4, placing her fifth for NM State and 20th overall. Hightower was one of the nine Aggies to run at the Pre-Nationals (Oct 16) and one of seven to run at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships (Nov. 12)
2010 Cross Country (Freshman): Hightower spent her freshman season running events during the early portion of the NM State cross country schedule. In her first meet as an Aggie, Hightower finished 41st overall and 11th among NM State with a time of 20:37.0 in the women's 5K. Hightower followed up at the Kachina Classic with a time of 19:55.0, good for 23rd overall and eight among Aggies. Hightower finished up the cross country season at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational ninth overall and third among Aggies with a time of 18:54.1
High School: Hightower earned 10 letters while attending Cibola High School in Albuquerque, N.M. Hightower earned four letters in track and field, four in swimming, and two in cross country, while only running cross country two years. Hightower holds school records in swimming the 200m free relay and the 400m free relay. Hightower was the district runner-up in 2008 for the 800m in cross country and led her team to its first ever district championship while also being named all-district and all-state in 2009 in cross country. Hightower was also the Atrisco Heritage Academy Invitational Champion in cross country.
Personal: Hightower is the daughter of Tim and Glenda Hightower. She was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and is currently majoring in nursing.
