Biography

Junior (2009): Baumhover made 23 appearances while starting 18 games behind the plate as a junior. She registered six hits on the year with one double, five RBIs, scored two runs, walked six times and recorded four sacrifice hits. Baumhover had two standout performances at the UTEP Invitational. Against tournament host UTEP, Feb. 19, she drove in a season-high two runs with a double. She recorded her season-best outing two days later against Northern Colorado, Feb. 21, by going 3-for-3 in the box and she scored one run and recorded a stolen base. Baumhover matched her two-RBI effort against Boise State, April 17, helping the Aggies to their second WAC series sweep of the season. 

 

Sophomore (2008): Baumhover played in 10 games for the Aggies last season and started all but one behind the plate. She had four hits on the year, a pair of RBIs and scored three runs. Her best performance of the season was against Louisiana Tech, April 5, when she hit 2-for-4 in the box. Baumhover also recorded her first sacrifice fly of her career against Utah State, April 11, which gave NM State a two-run cushion in its 5-3 victory.

 

Freshman (2007): Baumhover played in 11 games and made seven stats, four at third base and three as the designated player. She had one hit on the year, drove in two base runners and walked three times. She was sure-handed in her time on the corner at third base, not making an error in her eight fielding chances. Her first career RBI came on April 13 against the then 24th ranked Fresno State Bulldogs and she got her only career hit on in the second game of a doubleheader with Utah State on May 5.

 

High School: A two time all-state honorable mention and four time First Team Fiesta Region honoree. She was voted 2006 team most valuable player by her teammates and coaches. Baumhover lettered four times in softball for the Mesquite Wildcats. In 2005, her softball team was the region champions. She also lettered two times in basketball and in 2005 her basketball team reached the quarterfinals of the playoffs after winning the region tournament. Baumhover also coached little league in Gilbert.

 

Personal: Baumhover is the daughter of Melissa Jones and Craig Baumhover and was born in Arizona. She is majoring in secondary education and math.
