Junior (2013): Ruiz started 34 games in 41 appearances as a catcher. She had 15 hits in 77 at-bats. Her batting average was .195 and her slugging percentage was .286. She brought in five runs and two home runs. Her first home run of the season against UTEP on Feb. 12. She had 12 runs batted in and .262 as her on-base percentage. Ruiz also earned WAC All-Academic honors.

Sophomore (2012): Ruiz started 11 games in 13 appearances at catcher in her second season with the Aggies.  She tallied two RBI and scored one run for the season.  On defense she had 45 putouts and had a .961 fielding percentage.

Freshman (2011): Ruiz started 22 games in 29 appearances for NM State all at catcher. She hit .288 at the plate with 19 hits in 66 at-bats. Five of those hits were doubles. Ruiz posted three hits in three separate games in 2011, in each of those games she connected on a double. She batted in nine runners on the year. Three of those RBI came against North Dakota on Feb. 26. Defensively, she totaled 84 putouts behind the plate. Ruiz also earned WAC All-Academic Team honors for her performance in the classroom.

High School: Ruiz earned four letters in softball at Chaparral High School in Temecula, Calif., playing primarily catcher and on occasion third base. Ruiz earned All-Southwestern League Second Team recognition playing catcher as a junior. A member of California Cruisers 18 Gold club team in the offseason, Ruiz is one of six players from the 2010 class to play Division I softball. In 2008 she earned a nod as an Adidas Futures top 100. Off the field she claimed a Latino Scholar Award as a freshman.

Personal: Ruiz is the daughter of Edward and Kimberly Ruiz. She is a criminal justice major.
