Biography

 

Freshman (2007): Pulley played in 23 games for New Mexico State as a freshman, making 13 starts at first base and four as the designated player. She had 10 hits on the year, two doubles, seven RBI and scored six runs. She made only one error in 80 chances and walked eight times. Pulley started the season-opener against Colorado State on Feb. 8 and went 2-for-3 in that game with two doubles and an RBI. In her first career at-bats, she doubled to left center to bring in a run. She had a career-high three RBI in the second game of a twin bill against UTEP, as she went 2-for-3 at the plate.

 

High School: A first team all-state selection, Tacoma Tribune All-Area First Team honoree, Tacoma Weekly First Team selection and Narrows League Most Valuable Player her senior year. That same year she was also the Woodrow Wilson’s Female Athlete of the Year recipient. Pulley’s junior year, she was season team all-state, Tacoma Tribune All-Area First Team, First Team All-Narrows League and team “Miss Offensive” award honoree. As a sophomore, she was the teams’ most valuable player, selected to the All-Narrows League team and a First Team Tacoma Tribune All-Area recipient. Her freshman year, she was second team all-league and won the “Miss Defense” team award. She batted .418 with 142 hits, 78 RBI, 29 doubles, nine triples and had only 17 strikeouts in 340 career at-bats. As a pitcher, she was 30-8 with a 1.29 ERA in 287.2 innings pitched, allowed only 53 earned runs, collected seven saves and had 202 strikeouts with only 22 walks in her career. Her team won the league title all four years she played softball for the Rams and finished third in the state her junior year. In volleyball, she was a two-time first team all-league selection, won the team most valuable player award, coach and most improved awards, Female Athlete of the Year and was a team captain for two years. She also lettered two times in basketball.

 

Academics: She is majoring in kinesiology here at NMSU. In high school, she was honored as the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior, received the Excellence in Academic award from 2002-2006 and was a Distinguished Scholastic recipient from 2000-06. Pulley was on the National Honor Society all throughout high school.

 

Personal: Pulley was born in Sacramento, Calif. to parents Jode and Richard Pulley. She coached third grade girls the fundamentals of pitching and coached at volleyball camps in Tacoma, Wash. She has career ambitions of becoming a physical therapists or athletic trainer.
