Junior-RS (2007): She played in 50 games for New Mexico State, making 45 starts and 40 of them were in right field. She was third on the team in batting with her .341 batting average, had 45 hits, five doubles and drove in 15 runs. From March 14 through Apr. 7, Kimbro had a 17-game hitting streak that was the third longest in the WAC. She scored two runs in four different games and scored 23 runs in all on the year. On Feb. 18 against rival UTEP, Kimbro went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and drove in the game-winning run with her walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Aggies an 11-10 victory. She went 3-fo-3 in a 10-2 victory in five innings over UTEP on Mar. 14, while driving in a career-high two runs and she tied that in two other games (Apr. 7 versus Hawai’i and May 4 vs. Utah State). Her six at-bats against Louisiana Tech on March 31 was the most in any game on the team in 2007 and it was one behind the all-time record for most individual at-bats in a game. She was 5-for-7 in stolen base attempts and had a quality .975 fielding percentage.
Junior (2006): Kimbro’s first season as an Aggie was cut short after only eight games by a separated shoulder suffered in mid-February. At the time of the injury, she was batting .533 (8-for-15) with seven runs scored. A slap hitter, Kimbro recorded a .600 slugging percentage and a .563 on-base percentage in eight games. She received a medical redshirt and will not lose a year of eligibility.
Prior to NMSU: Kimbro played two seasons at Midland (Texas) College in her hometown for head coach Tommy Ramos, helping the team to a 50-12 record in her last year there and she earned all-conference and all-region honors. Over two years, Kimbro batted .346 with 48 RBI, 75 runs scored and nine stolen bases.
High School: A 2003 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Kimbro played four years for coach Wes Overton, batting .389 and compiling a 17-5 record with a 1.25 ERA in the circle en route to All-District First Team and West Texas High School All-Star accolades.
Academics: She is majoring in communications and minoring in management.
Personal: Kimbro was born in New Orleans, La. and is the daughter of Michael and Ollie Kimbro.
