2006: Johnston became New Mexico State's starting third baseman as a senior, at which position she made just five errors in 101 chances for a .950 fielding percentage, leading the team with 53 assists in the process. She batted .228 with one home run and 13 RBI, collecting her first career homer at UTEP on March 15.
2005: Johnston played in 44 games, starting 34 and collecting 12 base hits and four RBI.
Previous Schools: Johnston played for Wichita State University (2003) and Eastern Oklahoma State College (2004) before coming to NMSU.
High School: Johnston is a 2002 graduate of Norman High School North in Norman, Okla., where she was a four year letter winner for softball. She earned all-state, all-region, and all-conference honors while participating in high school softball and AFA and ASA. She was a member of state champion AFA and ASA teams in 2000.
Personal: Haley Jill Johnston was born in Stillwater, Okla., and is the daughter of Rob and Lea Johnston. She is majoring in education and hopes to teach and coach at a junior college in Oklahoma.
