Biography

2006: Nussbaum made seven appearances in relief as a freshman and managed to pick up two wins despite throwing a total of just six and two-thirds innings. She earned her first career win February 26 as the Aggies beat Northern Colorado 11-3 and holds the distinction of being the winning pitcher in the first WAC conference victory in New Mexico State history after the Aggies knocked off San Jose State 7-6 on March 25. Her ERA in those innings was 2.10.

 

High School: Nussbaum is a 2005 graduate of Farmington HS in Farmington, N.M., where she played for Gary Graham and Roy Johnson. Nussbaum, who helped lead the Scorpions to back-to-back state titles in 2003 and 2004, was an All-District 1-4A team selection, Rio Rancho Invitational MVP as a senior. Her high school teammate Mindy Muncrief joins her on the Aggies.

 

Academics: She is majoring in chemistry. In high school, Nussbaum was honored as an Army Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Nussbaum was born in Farmington, N.M. and is the daughter of NMSU alumni Richard and D'Ann Nussbaum.
