New Mexico State University Athletics

High School: Purcell was named the Female Athlete of the Year her senior year. She was a three time all-league honoree and San Antonio League Honoree. She was named to the Best Offensive list and twice named to the Best Defensive list for softball. Her 2004 softball team was the league champions under head coach Art Montano, when the Nobles had a 14-8 record. Purcell batted .400 her junior year and batted .334 for her career. She also had a .978 fielding percentage in her high school career while playing in the outfield. She lettered four times in softball and three times in volleyball for Nogales High School. She was a two time team most valuable player and two time league honorable mention honoree in volleyball along with best all-around team accolades.

Academics: She is majoring in business. She was on the Presidential Honor Roll and was a Scholar Athlete. Purcell was also on the Executive Cabinet of the Black Student Union and a member of the Spanish Honor Society.

Personal: Purcell is the daughter of Angie Fli and Nu-uao Purcell. She has career ambitions of being part of a major corporation.
