Biography

Senior (2015): Dodd finished her final year at NM State by hitting .346 with a slugging percentage of .673.  She was second on the team in on-base percentage (.490) and walks (47) and third on the squad with 14 home runs on the season, including tying for a team high with three grand slams.  In the field she started 58 games at first base and tied for the team lead with a .985 fielding percentage.  For her career Dodd finished with a .318 batting average and finished second all-time in the NM State record books with a .991 career fielding percentage.  She also finishes second all-time in career walks (137), fifth in career RBIs (146) and on-base percentage (.458) and sixth in career home runs (35) and slugging percentage (.589). 

For her efforts in 2015, Dodd picked up her first-ever All-WAC honor as she was part of the first team, and she also picked up her first-ever WAC Hitter of the Week award during the season.  Dodd also was part of the WAC All-Tournament team for the second time and picked up her fourth-straight WAC All-Academic honor.

Junior (2014): Dodd started in 49 of 51 games in 2014 playing first base for the Aggies.  Dodd recorded a .304 batting average in 125 at bats, with 38 hits and 25 RBI.  With four doubles and six home runs on the season, Dodd earned 60 total bases and a .480 slugging percentage.  She also drew 32 walks.  In WAC play only, she had a .355 batting average, recording 11 hits in 31 at bats and driving in nine runs.  On the defensive end Dodd led the team with 342 put outs and 11 assists for a .994 fielding percentage. Dodd’s longest hitting streak of the year was four games and her longest reached base streak was 12.  She had five multiple RBI games and seven multiple hit games.  Her best game of the season came against UTEP on March 25, where she went 3-of-4 from the plate and drove in a season high for runs.  In the WAC Tournament from May 9-10, Dodd recorded four hits and two RBI, along with three walks.

Sophomore (2013): Dodd played all 57 games played and started in 54. She had a batting average of .318 and a slugging percentage of .570. She brought in eight home runs and a total of 21 runs. Dodd had 48 hits at 151 at-bats. Her best hitting came against Utah State when she went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two doubles and a home run. Her work in the game helped the Aggies to a 3-0 win over the USU Aggies. She was a mainstay at first base for NM State with 385 putouts. Dodd earned WAC All-Academic honors for the second straight year. 

Freshman (2012): Dodd made 37 starts and appeared in 46 games in her freshman season with the Aggies.  Dodd led the Aggies in slugging percentage with .625, on-base percentage with .461 and walks drawn with 28. Dodd also hit seven home runs had 29 RBI on the season.  Against Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 18, Dodd hit two home runs and had five RBI, which set the season-high in both categories for her. 

High School: Dodd was utility player from Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif. As a senior Dodd led her team to a league championship while earning all-state first team honors from MaxPreps.com. The Fresno Bee awarded Dodd first team all-area honors in 2011.  She also claimed league Co-Player of the Year accolades in her final season. As a junior first baseman, Dodd led the Bears to a runner-up finish in the 2010 CIF Central Section Valley Championship. At the plate, Dodd ripped 50 hits, 25 of which were extra bases. As a result, she set two new school season records with 20 doubles and 35 RBI. Dodd also owns the record for most walks in a season at 37. Dodd earned several accolades in the 2010 postseason. She received recognition as a member of the ESPN RISE First Team All-State California. Additionally, the Fresno Bee honored her as the Player of the Year. Dodd also garnered conference Co-Player of the Year honors as well as the Bears’ team MVP award after her junior campaign. As a sophomore, the lefty spent the year as a designated hitter while scoring a team-high 24 runs to help Buchanan claim the 2009 CIF Central Section Valley Championship. She later received all-league honorable mention recognition. Dodd earned a rare spot on the varsity squad as a freshman, splitting time at first base and designated hitter. In the off-season, Dodd was a member of the Fresno Force 18 Gold where she splits time playing first and catching. Off the field Dodd has been equally successful, earning Academic All-American honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association (NFCA) while carrying a 3.8 GPA.  She has attained the principal’s honor roll at Buchanan each of the eight semesters she was eligible. As a result, she is now a lifetime member of the California Scholastic Federation. She is also a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, Dodd earned recognition as the most well-rounded athlete at Buchanan by claiming the 2010 Female Heisman Award as a junior. Dodd played two years of volleyball as a freshman and sophomore at Buchanan.

Personal: Dodd majored in nursing. She was born in Clovis, Calif., to Mark and Cathy Dodd. Mark played collegiate soccer at UC Davis.
