Junior (2011):
Schueler started her first career game against No. 6 Oklahoma on Feb. 20. She
suffered her first loss of the season against the highly-ranked Sooners after a
pair of wins in four previous relief appearances. Schueler's other 20
appearances were all in relief. She finished the year with a 5.60 ERA and a 4-3
record. She struck out 20 batters in 45 innings of action. Schueler allowed 36
earned runs on 57 hits from the circle. She pitched her best ball against
Bradley on Feb. 25, striking out three during five innings of relief work to
help NM State record a 12-10 win.
Sophomore (2010):
Schueler made seven appearances in relief during her sophomore campaign. In
those seven games, she surrendered 18 hits, 12 earned runs and six walks while
striking out six batters. Schueler was credited with the win against Penn State
on Feb. 13, her second of her career. In the first game of the season, Schueler
earned her first career save with two innings of relief against Nebraska on
Feb. 11.
Freshman (2009):
Schueler saw action in six games and registered 7.2 innings of work in the
circle as a freshman. She gave up 10 hits, five earned runs, two walks, but struck
out seven throughout the year. At the Arizona State Invitational against Utah
State, March 1, Schueler came up with a huge strikeout with the bases loaded in
the sixth inning as she went on to record her first win of her career. In her
season debut against Missouri-Kansas City, Feb. 8, Schueler recorded a
season-high three strikeouts in 2.2 innings of action.
High School:
Schueler is a 2008 graduate of Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif., where
she lettered in softball for three seasons. Schueler was named the TRAC Pitcher
of the Year, the City MVP and was a first team all-conference selection. She
was also named the winning pitcher in the city county all-star game where she
tossed four innings and recorded nine strikeouts. Schueler earned the Bear Award,
which is given to the most outstanding softball player in the school and was
the Clovis Independent Player of the Week. As a senior, she recorded 127
strikeouts in 115 innings of work and had an ERA of 1.05. Offensively, she had
a .318 batting average.
Personal: Schueler
is the daughter of Dan and Cindy Schueler and was born in Clovis, Calif. She is
majoring in animal science.
