Biography

At Texas (2007-09): Schroeder played three seasons with the Longhorns as a pitcher and first baseman. In 40 appearances in the circle she compiled a 12-4 record with a 3.54 ERA. She started 24 games in three years and 16 of those came in 2009 where she struck out 64 batters and opponents only hit .241 against her. In 2008 she played in 35 games, including her nine pitching appearances. She allowed one hit and no runs in her first three relief performances. Schroeder threw 2.2 innings of relief against No. 12 Michigan, surrendering one hit and one walk while fanning four as UT lost, 6-2. She was 2-for-4 at the plate and notched an RBI in an 11-9 extra-inning win over Oregon State, Feb. 23. In her freshman season she appeared in 30 games, starting six as a pitcher and four in leftfield. She owned a 2-1 record in 2007 and tossed 5.2 innings to notch her first collegiate win in Texas’ victory over Long Beach State. In that game she allowed six hits and just three runs. She combined on a one-hitter to help Texas down Texas State, April 4. Schroeder was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection in her time at UT.

 

High School: Schroeder earned first team all-America accolades in softball as a senior at Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif. under head coach Dean Gregory. She recorded 80 victories and 994 strikeouts in her prep career while posting a 0.72 career ERA. She captured first team All-State honors in 2006 after being named to the second team in 2004 and 2005. Schroeder was a four-time first team all-conference selection, garnered first team All-San Joaquin Valley honors three times and earned a second team nod as a freshman. As a senior she was the conference and San Joaquin Valley Most Valuable player. Buchanan High won four straight league championships and a San Joaquin Valley Regional Championship in 2004 with Schroeder as its star. She was also a three-time first team all-conference selection as a setter and earned first team All-San Joaquin Valley accolades as a junior and senior. Schroeder was the Female Athlete of the Year and San Joaquin Valley Player of the Year for all sports in 2006. In 2006 she received the Fresno County ESPY Award for best high school athlete and best overall athlete as well as earning the California Interscholastic Federation Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. She also was awarded the B’nai Birth Award Scholarship for best athlete in the San Joaquin Valley.

 

Personal: Schroeder is the daughter of Pam and Andy Schroeder and was born in Clovis, Calif. She has two brothers, Ryan (32) and Jeremy (29) and one sister, McKenzie (18). Her father played football at UNLV.
