Biography

High SchoolDuring Morizi’s senior year, she was named team captain and was able to set 14 school season records including BA, RBI, OB percentage, slugging percentage, hits and TB. She was also named the team’s offensive MVP and Torrey Pines softball athlete of the year. Morizi helped her team reach the CIF Division I semifinals.  She was also selected to the All-CIF 1st Team Division I. Throughout her senior year Morizi earned a number of awards for her athletic ability. She earned All-Avocado League first team honors and was also named the league’s player of the year. Morizi also helped her team to the Avocado League championship. The San Diego Union Tribune chose Morizi for their All-Academic Team and All-Section 1st team. She was also named Cal-Hi Sports.com’s State Star of the Week. Morizi was also named Player of the Week by the North County Times twice within her senior year and selected for their All-North County 1st team. Morizi led the Torrey Pines Falcons into the CIF playoffs from 2006-08, when she was an All-Palomar League honorable mention selection all three years. She was the team’s defensive MVP in 2007 and 2008 and was honored once as the San Diego Tribune and North County Times Athlete of the Week. Morizi lettered all four years in high school.

 

Personal: Morizi is the daughter of Sue and John Morizi and was born in La Jolla, Calif. Her father played football at Fordham and her sister, Karen, played softball at Drexel.
