Biography

Sophomore (2007): Dillard appeared in 16 games for the Aggies in 2007 making six starts. She had a 2-3 record and an 3.80 ERA. In 38.2 innings of work, Dillard amassed 32 strikeouts, allowed 18 walks, 21 earned runs and gave up 35 hits. Opposing batters hit just .245 off of her on the year and she did not have a wild pitch. In three and two-thirds innings of relief work in the second game of a doubleheader with New Mexico on March 28, Dillard had a season-high six strikeouts. She picked up her first victory as an Aggie on May 1 in game two of the twin bill with Western New Mexico, throwing four scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and fanning five batters. The next game she started on May 5 became her second consecutive victory, as she threw six innings with five strikeouts in a 3-1 win over Utah State.

 

Prior to NMSU: A 2006 Southland Conference Honorable Mention honoree for the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She was the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week after facing North Texas and Northwestern State, going 3-0 in four appearances. She had a team-low ERA of 2.18 with a 14-9 record. Dillard led the Warhawks with 151.0 innings pitched, 28 starts, eight complete games and 102 strikeouts. Dillard had a season-high seven strikeouts against Northwestern State on March 28. She was named to the Mardi Gras Classic All-Tournament Team and the Alabama Central Credit Union Bulldog Bash All-Tournament Team.

 

High School: Dillard was a 5A all-state honorable mention selection and an all-region first team honoree with an Arizona Coaches Association All-Star selection and Outstanding Senior Athlete accolade her senior year. She was 5A all-state honorable mention and all-region first team her junior year and 5A all-region first team her sophomore year. She pitched in 161 innings and struck out 155 batters with only 13 walks, two of which were intentional. Her ERA was 0.87 and had 14 wins.

 

Academics: Her major in English. In high school, she was an AIA Scholar Athlete and received First Academic Honors three years and Second Academic Honors one year. She was also an Arizona Interscholastic Association Scholar Athlete two years.

 

Personal: Dillard was born in Phoenix, Ariz. And is the daughter of Stephanie and Jerry Dillard. She has two brothers, Beau and Tres. She would like to become a screenwriter or a critic someday. She did community service work for the Andre House and Hurricane Relief in 2005.
