Senior (2015): Rodriguez started all 63 games in center field during the final year of her storied NM State career. She led the team in batting average (.401), on-base percentage (.529), runs scored (73), walks (49) and was tied for the team lead in doubles (16). She was also second in slugging percentage (.763), hits (71), RBIs (58) and home runs (16). Her 73 runs scored broke the Aggie record for runs scored in a season and upped her career total to 194 runs scored, also a new team record. Rodriguez also became only the second player in NM State softball history to reach 50 home runs in a career, netting her 50th in Seattle off of a grand slam. She finished her career with 56 total homers, second all-time in program history. Rodriguez also finished her career second on the all-time RBIs list with 192, second in career slugging percentage (.694) and second in career on-base percentage (.467). She finished with a career .351 batting average.
At the conclusion of the WAC season Rodriguez was named the 2015 WAC Player of the Year, her second player of the year award. She was also an All-WAC first teamer, marking her third-straight year on an All-WAC team. It was also the third-consecutive time on an NFCA All-Region team as she was a third-team member for the second-straight year. Among other accolades, Rodriguez was part of the WAC All-Tournament team and picked up a WAC Hitter of the Week honor as she finished her career with six such awards.
Junior (2014): Rodriguez started in 52 of 53 games for NM State during the 2014 season. At the plate, Rodriguez went 58-for-146 with 45 RBI and a WAC-leading 15 homeruns to finish the year with a .397 batting average. Rodriguez reached base 37 consecutive times to lead the team and finished the season with 20 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games. Rodriguez was named WAC player of the Week two times during the 2014 season and was also placed on the All-WAC second team. She was also named to the NFCA All-Region for the second straight year. She had two grand slams on the year and had a league-high seven RBI against Binghamton (3/1) while going 4-for-4 at the plate and helping the Aggies to set a league and program record with seven home runs in the game. In WAC play, Rodriguez held a .333 batting average going 15-for-45 at the plate. Overall, Rodriguez contributed a total of 115 total bases in 146 at bats and 58 hits. She plated 18 runs for the aggies during league play and had a homerun in the first game of the series against Kansas City (4/4). She also had a homerun in each of the last two games of the 2014 WAC Tournament.
Sophomore (2013): Rodriguez had an outstanding season for the Aggies. She started in every game as center fielder for NM State and lead the team with a slugging percentage of .780 and 20 home runs. Those 20 bombs led the WAC, placed her 10th in the nation and second in the Aggie Record Book. Rodriguez rounded the bases 36 times for the Aggies, including two games with three runs scored. On Mar. 25, she smacked three home runs against Siena College, the most of any Aggie in a single game. Her batting average percentage was .357, good for second on the team and fifth in the conference. In her 60 hits on the season, Rodriguez tallied 63 RBI. She had two games with six RBI and combined for a career-high13 runs batted in during the second week of regular-season play. Rodriguez was named WAC Player of the Year, Hitter of the Week three times and received WAC All-Academic honors. She was also recognized as a Player of the Week by ESPNW College Softball Notebook.
Freshman (2012): Rodriguez appeared in 47 games and started 43 in the outfield for the Aggies in her freshman season. She had a batting average of .215 and had 26 RBI in her first season. Rodriguez scored 25 runs on the season and her career-high for runs scored in a game came against rival UTEP on Feb. 14 where she scored four runs in a 13-3 win.
High School: Rodriguez earned first team all-league honors and was named to the Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team and MVP of her softball team in the spring. On the diamond Rodriguez is a defensive stalwart in the outfield, playing three varsity seasons without an error. As a junior she was recognized for her defense with the team’s Golden Glove Award. As a junior, Rodriguez earned San Gabriel Valley First Team All-League honors. She led the Vikings in stolen bases and runs scored on the season. Rodriguez earned a spot on the Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team in her third season and garnered Player of the Week honors from the paper during the year. As a sophomore, Rodriguez attained Second Team All-League honors in the San Gabriel Valley after hitting .488 at the dish, She later earned the team’s Super Slugger Award. The Press-Telegram named Rodriguez to her first Dream Team in 2009 and also named her a Player of the Week. She earned San Gabriel Valley First Team All-League accolades in her first full season with the Vikings in the outfield and also earned Player of the Week honors from the Press-Telegram. With the Viking volleyball squad, Rodriguez was a four-time San Gabriel Valley First Team All-League selection as well as a Press-Telegram Player of the Week honoree each season. In her final season she was named the CIF Player of the Year, San Gabriel Valley Player of the Year, and earned first team all-conference honors as Downey clinched the 2011 CIF volleyball championship. Rodriguez has played traveling softball team since the age of 12. She was a member of the Southern California Explosion 18-under Gold Squad, playing for head coach Joe Weddle. In 2010 the squad placed 13th at the 2010 ESPN Rise Nationals and placed third at the Colorado Independence Tournament. Rodriguez was an eight-time scholar-athlete with softball and volleyball.
Personal: Rodriguez was born in Torrance, Calif., to Richard and Susan Rodriguez.
