2013-14 (JUNIOR): Barron participated in seven tournaments during her junior season, playing a total of 21 rounds. She finished the season with an 80.95 scoring average and 26 birdies, giving her a career-total of 75 birdies while at NM State. She also broke her personal bests in total score, finish and low round during the season. Barron marked a career-best 11-over-par 227 total score at the Aggies’ home tournament, the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate (Oct. 7-9). She followed that up with by narrowly missing a top-10 finish at the Jim West Challenge in the spring (Feb. 17-18), finishing up in 11th place, a career-best finish and the best finish by any Aggie in the tournament. Barron was aided in the best finish of her career by shooting a 2-over 73 during the final round of the Jim West, eclipsing her career best by one stroke.
2012-13 (SOPHOMORE): Barron only missed one tournament during the 2012-13 season, participating in nine of 10 tournaments, including the WAC Women’s Golf Championship (Apr. 22-24) where she finished in a tie for 25th place. She finished third on the Aggie squad in scoring average (81.52), low total score (+13 229) and birdies (36). Barron finished the season strong, shooting her best round of the season during the final round of the WAC tournament, a 3-over 75. Her total score at the conference tourney of 17-over-par 233 was Barron’s second-best score of the season behind only the 229 she shot at NM State’s home tournament, the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate (Oct. 8-10). Barron shot 76-76-77 during the “Give ‘Em Five” to finish in a tie for 43rd place. Her best finish aside from the WAC tournament, however, was a tie for 33rd at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational (Sep. 24-25).
2011-12 (FRESHMAN): Barron participated in four tournaments for NM State during her freshman year. Her first tournament as an Aggie came during the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate (10/10-12) hosted by NM State, where she participated as an individual player. Barron's first-round score of 77 (+5) during the tournament was her low single-round score of the season. Her three-round total score of 24-over-par, 240 was also a season's best for Barron.
Barron's only other round in the 70s came in the next tournament she participated in, the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational (2/20-21). Her first-round score of 79 (+7) helped Barron to a 246 three-round total score and a season-high finish of 49th. Barron finished the season averaging over three birdies per tournament, finishing with 13 total birdies.
HIGH SCHOOL: Barron is a graduate of Eastwood High in El Paso, Texas, where she participated in golf and was a member of the National Honor Society. She played at Eastwood High from 2008-2011 under Coach Jon Stovall. Barron was on the all-city golf team, the all-district golf team, and led the team to three consecutive district titles from 2008-11. Barron helped her team to a runner-up finish at the Texas State Championship in 2011 and was named Female Athlete of the Year at Eastwood High School. Barron averaged a score of 81.23 her junior year and 79.00 her senior year.
PERSONAL: Barron was born in El Paso, Texas, and is the daughter of Ralph Jr. and Irma Barron. She is majoring in international business.
