Biography
Junior: Wise played in 11 tournaments for the NMSU women’s golf team and ended up with the lowest scoring average on the team at 76.59. This helped Wise earn her way to a second team All-WAC pick. She earned three top-10 finishes with her best finish coming at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis. There she shot rounds of 72-73-75 to place her in fourth and finish at 4-over-par 220. Wise’s lowest round was in the first round of the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational where she fired a 70. She finished in a tie for ninth after ending up with a 3-over-par 147. Wise also finished in sixth place at the WAC Championships in San Jose, Calif. with a 14-over-par 230. She made it to the West Regionals for the second time in her career in 2006.
Sophomore: Lehua competed in all 10 tournaments in which the Aggies took part during the 2004-05 season, recording a season average of 77.10. She placed in the top 20 three times, her top finish being at the Jeannine McHaney Invitational (9/24-26) in Lubbock, Texas. There she placed in a tie for tenth with a 5-over-par 73-76-149. Lehua scored her lowest round of 70 strokes at the Las Vegas Founders Showdown (11/1-3) in Las Vegas, Nev., where she shot a 12-over-par 81-77-70-228 to place in a tie for 35th.
Freshman: Wise was named to the 2004 All-Sun Belt Conference women's golf team. She won the 2004 Sun Belt Conference Individual Championship with scores of 76-73-73--222). She ranked first on the team with a scoring average of 76.80 and shot a season-low 70 on the final round of the Ping/ASU Invitational April 4. She was the top Aggie finisher at four tournaments. She tied for 12th at the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout (3/19-21) with scores of 76-76-79--231). She tied for 18th at the Ping/ASU Invitational (4/2-4) where she fired scores of 74-77-70--221.
High School: Lehua was a two-time runner up at the Hawaii High School State Championships. She was a three-time KIF Medalist and placed third in the 2003 Hawaii State Women's Amateur Championships. She recorded a top-20 finish at the 2003 Junior World Championships. She was named the 2002 Hawaii State Female Player of the Year. She recorded a scoring average of 71.2 as a senior, the lowest in the state. She was the Kauai Interscholastic Federation Female Champion from 2001 to 2003.
Personal: Born Lehua Nani Wise in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii. She is the daughter of Debra Leyva and Bernard Wise. She is majoring in Professional Golf Management.
