2012-13 (Senior): In her final season in the pool for the Crimson and White, Fenton directed the sprint freestyle swimmers. She finished in 15th place in the 200 free with a season-best time (1:52.53) at the 2013 WAC Championships. Fenton recorded a season-best time in the 50 free (24.07) and anchored the 800-free relay to a fourth-place finish at the WAC meet. In the season opener against Air Force (Oct. 13), she won the 100 free and captured second place in the 200 free. Fenton also claimed second place in the 200 free against New Mexico (Feb. 2) and against New Mexico, Colorado State and San Diego State (Nov. 2-3) in Albuquerque, N.M. She posted a season-best time in the 100 free (51.90) at the Houston Invitational (Nov. 15-17) before finishing second in the event at Northern Arizona (Dec. 1). Fenton was a significant member of the NM State relay teams as she competed in the 200-free, 400-free, 800-free, 200-medley and 400-medley relays. Fenton earned Academic All-WAC honors for the third consecutive season.
2011-12 (Junior): As a junior, Fenton set lifetime-best times in four individual events in 2011-12. She posted career-best marks in the 50 free (24.02) at the 2012 WAC Championships and 100 free (51.75), 200 free (1:51.16) and tied her personal-best mark in the 100 back (58.04) at the Houston Invitational (Nov. 17-19). At the conference meet, Fenton recorded three top 20 finishes including 12th place in the 200 free, 14th place in the 100 free and 20th place in the 50 free. She swam on the 400-free and 800-free relays that broke school records. The 400-free relay (3:23.63) earned runner-up honors and the 800-free relay (7:22.47) collected fourth place. At the home opener against Northern Colorado (Oct. 29), she swept the freestyle events and won the 100 free and 200 free. Fenton captured third place in the 100 free and 200 free and helped the Aggies take the 400-free relay versus Northern Arizona (Dec. 3). She was third in the 100 free against Idaho (Jan. 21) and then finished third in the 100 free and second in the 200 free at New Mexico (Feb. 4). Additionally, Fenton was named to the Academic All-WAC team for the second straight year.
2010-11 (Sophomore): In her sophomore campaign, Fenton made a significant impact for the Aggies in the sprint freestyle, backstroke and relay events. She set season-best times in the 50 free (24.04) and 100 free (51.92) at the 2011 WAC Championships. Fenton posted three top 18 finishes at the conference meet in the 100 free (18th place), 200 free (14th place) and 100 back (13th place). Additionally, she swam the third leg of the 800-free relay (7:26.99) that finished in fifth place with a school-record performance. In the regular season, Fenton helped the Aggies to dual meet wins over at Northern Colorado (Jan. 21), Colorado State (Jan. 22) and New Mexico (Feb. 5). Fenton won the 100 free against New Mexico and Northern Colorado, and she collected second place at both meets in the 200 free. She also swam the leadoff for the winning 200-free relay against the Lobos. In the win at CSU, Fenton was the anchor for the victorious 200-free and 400-medley relays. Out of the water, Fenton was successful and earned Academic All-WAC honors.
2009-10 (Freshman): At the 2010 WAC Championships, NM State recorded a program-best second-place finish, and she posted season-best marks in the 50 free (24.59), 100 free (53.17) and 100 back (58.04). Fenton scored for the Aggies in her first WAC meet in the 100 back with a 12th-place showing. She was also vital in the relays and swam the third leg of both the 200-free and 400-free relays that finished in sixth and fifth, respectively. Against Idaho (Jan. 2), Fenton anchored the victorious 200-medley relay and swam second on the winning 400-free relay. She also collected fifth place in the 100 free. In the regular season finale at Boise State (Jan. 30), Fenton was fourth in the 100 free and was the second leg of the 200-free relay that finished second. She also earned Academic All-WAC Freshman/Transfer team honors.
High School: Fenton joined the Aggies after swimming for the Lobo Aquatic Club and head coach Doug Forbes. She was a five-time letter winner at Rio Rancho High School in Rio Rancho, N.M. As a junior and senior, she earned team most valuable player honors. She owns the Rio Rancho school records in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 back, 200 individual medley, 100 fly, 200-free relay, 400-free relay and 200-medley relay. As a sophomore, Fenton was named the most inspirational swimmer on the Rams’ squad.
Personal: Born in Columbus, Ohio, Fenton is the daughter of Gregg and Theresa Fenton. She is pursuing a degree in microbiology.
