New Mexico State University Athletics

2008-09 (Sophomore): Idler competed in a wide variety of events for the Aggies in her sophomore campaign. She swam in the breaststroke, freestyle and individual medley events. In the WAC Shoot-Out (Oct. 10-11), Idler set a season-best time in the 100 breast while her best performance in the 200 breast was in the victory over in-state rival New Mexico (Jan. 28). In the first-ever win at Northern Arizona (Dec. 6), Idler competed in the 100 breast and 400 free. At San Diego (Dec. 13), she provided the Aggies with depth in the 1,000 free and 200 IM. Additionally, Idler was an Academic All-WAC honoree.

2007-08 (Freshman): In her first season with the Aggies, Idler added depth to the distance freestyle crew. In the season opener against Northern Colorado/Rice (Oct. 12), she was productive and recorded a third-place finish in the 1,000 free. Idler had her best performance in the 1,000 free in the victory over New Mexico (Jan. 31). At the WAC Championships, she recorded her season-best time in the 1,650 free (17:56.92). Idler was rewarded for her success in the classroom when she named to the Academic All-WAC Freshmen team.

High School: Idler came to NM State following a four-year varsity career at Los Alamos High School. As a senior, Idler won the state title in the 500 free and she was a team captain for the Hilltoppers. Idler collected a pair of runner-up finishes in the event in her junior and sophomore seasons.

Personal: Idler is the daughter of Craig and Valerie Idler and was born in Los Alamos, N.M. She is majoring in kinesiology.
