Biography

2008-09 (Freshman): In her first season in Las Cruces, Strampel provided depth for the Aggies on the boards. She had lifetime-best scores on the 1-meter and 3-meter at Northern Arizona (Dec. 6), where the Aggies recorded their first victory in Flagstaff, Ariz. Strampel also represented NM State on the platform at the WAC Championship. On the 1-meter, she posted her best individual finish at Northern Colorado (Jan. 16). Strampel had her best showing on the 3-meter in the win over in-state rival New Mexico (Jan. 28).

 

High School: Strampel joined the Aggies from Castle Rock, Colo. As a captain and most valuable player on the Rock Canyon dive team, Strampel was a two-time state runner-up on the 1-meter springboard. She holds the school record for six and 11 dives. As a senior, Strampel led the Jaguars to a seventh-place finish at the state meet, an improvement from 16th in 2006-07. In both her freshman and sophomore seasons, she guided Rock Canyon to a third-place showing at regionals.

 

Personal: Strampel was born in Chicago, Ill., to Marc and Jeannine Strampel, and she is undecided on a major.
