2009-10 (Senior): In her final season with the Crimson and White, Taylor recorded season-best times in the 100 back (1:00.31), 200 back (2:07.25) and 100 fly (58.39) en route to helping the Aggies to a program-best second-place finish at the 2010 WAC Championships. She posted three top 25 showings at the conference meet including 23rd in the 100 back, 19th in the 200 back and 24th in the 100 fly. In the home opening weekend against Northern Arizona/Northern Colorado (Oct. 31), Taylor was sixth in the 100 back. At New Mexico/Wyoming (Nov. 14), she swam the third leg for the third-place 200-medley relay. Taylor then collected a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 100 and 200 back at Arizona State (Dec. 19). In the regular season finale at Boise State (Jan. 30), she claimed third in the 200 back and fifth in the 100 back. Also, Taylor was named to the Academic All-WAC team for the third consecutive season.
2008-09 (Junior): In her junior campaign, Taylor improved on her personal-best times to guide NM State to a third-place finish at the WAC Championships. She set lifetime best in the 100 back, 200 back, 100 fly and 200 individual medley at the conference meet. Taylor finished seventh in the 200 back, 12th in the 200 IM and 16th in the 100 back. She won her first individual event of the season in the 200 back at Loyola Marymount (Dec. 19) along with a second-place showing in the 100 back. At San Diego (Dec. 13), Taylor earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 back and 200 IM. In the Aggies first win at Northern Arizona (Dec. 13), Taylor scored with a runner-up finish in the 200 back. She was also second in the 100 back at Northern Colorado (Jan. 16). In the regular season finale against in-state rival New Mexico, Taylor helped NM State collect its second consecutive victory over the Lobos with a third-place showing in the 200 back. Additionally, she was a member of the 200-medley and 400-medley relays throughout the season. For the second straight year, Taylor was an Academic All-WAC honoree.
2007-08 (Sophomore): Taylor continued to make an impact for the Aggies in her second season in Crimson and White. She was a major contributor in the backstroke events. Taylor earned top honors in five individual events and excelled in the 200 back with four of her wins in that specialty. At the WAC Championships, Taylor recorded a lifetime-best and team-best time in the 200 back (2:03.60) en route to collecting a third-place finish. She also had season-best times in the 100 back (57.99) and 200 IM (2:08.19), where she finished seventh and eighth, respectively. Taylor was also a member of the 200-medley relay that finished fourth and set a school record along with the 400-medley relay that claimed fifth. In the season opening weekend against Northern Colorado/Rice (Oct. 12-13), Taylor was a member of the victorious 200-medley and 400-medley relays. At both Nevada (Jan. 17) and Boise State (Jan. 19), she won the 200 back. Taylor followed those performances with a sweep of the backstroke events at New Mexico (Jan. 31). Additionally, Taylor won the 200 back against Northern Arizona (Feb. 2). She was also named to the Academic All-WAC team.
2006-07 (Freshman): In her first season with the team, Taylor quickly became one of the Aggies’ standouts. In her first collegiate meet against Houston/Northern Colorado (Oct. 13-14), Taylor posted two top 3 finishes and directed the team to a win in the 400-free relay. She finished second in the 200 back with a time of 2:10.16 and placed third in the 400 IM, touching in a time of 4:43.03. At New Mexico (Nov. 2), Taylor won the 200 back in a time of 2:09.78. She also swam leadoff on the 200-medley relay that finished fourth in a time of 1:51.34. At Northern Colorado (Nov. 8), Taylor won the 200 back in a time of 2:10.74 and placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.25. At the WAC Championships, Taylor posted the team’s best times in the 100 back and 200 back, as she placed 12th and seventh, respectively. Her 100 back time of 59.15 was the 13th fastest time in the conference, while her 200 back time of 2:05.78 was the seventh best time in the league. Taylor was an Academic All-Freshmen team honoree.
High School: Taylor came to NM State after graduating from Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nev. In the 2003 and 2004 swim seasons, Taylor directed the Gators to two regional championships, placing first in the division. In the 200 fly, she set a club record and won the state title. Taylor also won high school regionals in the 100 free and was second in the individual medley.
Personal: Taylor was born in Las Vegas, Nev., and is the daughter of Michael and Gail Taylor. She is studying athletic training.
