Biography

2012-13 (Senior): In her final season with the Aggies, Gansneder guided the freestyle group. She earned three top 25 finishes at the 2013 WAC Championships. Gansneder was 10th in the 500 free (4:57.75), 16th in the 1,650 free (17:19.77) and 23rd in the 200 free (1:53.93) following season-best performances. She was a valuable member of the Aggie relay teams and competed in the 200-free, 400-free and 800-free relays. For the third consecutive year, Gansneder earned Academic All-WAC honors.

2011-12 (Junior): As a junior, Gansneder continued to cut seconds off of her lifetime-best times. She set two career-best marks at the 2012 WAC Championships in the 500 free (4:57.69) and 1,650 free (17:06.29), with nearly a 20-second improvement in the mile. Gansneder finished seventh in the 1,650 free and 11th in the 500 free. In dual meets, she won the 500 free and finished second in the 1,000 free against Idaho (Jan. 21). Gansneder collected a pair of third-place showings in the 500 free at North Texas (Oct. 22) and at New Mexico (Feb. 4). She captured runner-up honors in the 500 free in the home opener against Northern Colorado (Oct. 29). Gansneder also helped the Aggie relays and swam on the 200-free, 400-free and 800-free relays throughout the season. She was named to the Academic All-WAC team for the second consecutive year.

2010-11 (Sophomore): In her second season in the Crimson and White, Gansneder competed in the freestyle events. She set a lifetime-best time in the 200 free (1:53.63) at the WAC Championships. Gansneder also recorded three top 25 finishes at the league meet. She finished in 13th place in the 1,650 free, 16th place in the 500 free and 22nd place in the 200 free. Gansneder also earned Academic All-WAC honors.

2009-10 (Freshman): Gansneder was a freestyle specialist for the Aggies as a freshman. She set then career-best times in the 100 free (54.19), 200 free (1:53.78), 500 free (5:01.31) and 1,650 free (17:25.17) at the 2010 WAC Championships en route to NM State finishing in second place, a program-best showing. Gansneder posted a pair of top 20 finishes at the league meet with 17th place in the 500 free and 18th place in the 200 free. At No. 2 Arizona/Oregon State (Jan. 8), Gansneder scored with a third-place showing in the 500 free. She also earned Academic All-WAC Freshman/Transfer team honors.

High School: Gansneder, a Normandy Park, Wash., native, swam for King Aquatics. She was a four-time state finalist and four-year letter winner at Mt. Rainier High School in Des Moines, Wash. As a senior, Gansneder led the Rams to a fifth-place finish at state with an 8-1 record. In addition, she was an All-American in the 200-free and 400-free relays as a senior. At the state meet, she won the 200-free relay, and finished second in 400-free relay, fifth in 200 free and sixth in the 500 free in her final season. She led the team to the Seamount League title as a sophomore. In the 100 free, Gansneder was crowned the league champion as a sophomore and senior. In the 200 free, she won the event as a freshman. Gansneder has multiple senior sectional cuts in various events. She also finished in the top 8 in the 200 free at the Pacific Northwest Swimming Championship meet in summer 2009.

Personal: She is the daughter of Greg and Kim Gansneder and was born in Burien, Wash. Gansneder is majoring in business management.
