Biography

2017-18 (SOPHOMORE): In her second season, Pettersson was one of four girls on the relay team who broke the NM State record in the 800-yard free relay during WAC Championships with a time of 7:20.21 to notch a first-place finish…Placed seventh overall during the 100-yard backstroke finals at WAC with a time of 56.57… Academic-All WAC honoree.  

2016-17 (FRESHMAN):  Scored 71.5 pts for the Aggies at the Western Athletic Conference Championship meet… Clocked in at 56.00 in the 100-yard backstroke at the WAC meet, which made for the fifth fastest time in that category in program history... Recorded a time of 1:59.31 to finish third in the 200-yard backstroke at the WAC Championship with the third fastest all-time performance... Finished fifth with a time of 1:50.27 in the 200-yard freestyle at the WAC Championship for the seventh fastest Aggie performance all-time.

HIGH SCHOOL: A native of Varnamo, Sweden, swam for coaches Karl-Johan Gardstrom and Thomas Salenuis of the Jonkoping Simsallskap swim team… Specializes in backstroke and sprint freestyle events… Personal best times of 1:02.52 (100 back SCM), 2:14.80 (200 back SCM) and 57.76 (100 free SCM)... Finished third at the Swedish Junior Nationals… A member of a national championship 4x50 free relay, which set a national Swedish record.
