2012-13 (Senior): In her senior season, Bezenek contributed to the Aggies’ success as she competed in six individual events. She posted a pair of top 25 finishes at the 2013 WAC Championships. Bezenek was 18th in the 100 butterfly with a season-best time (57.55) and 22nd in the 100 breaststroke with a lifetime-best time (1:06.59). She also recorded season-best performances in the 200 fly (2:11.10) and 200 individual medley (2:10.87) at the conference meet. Additionally, Bezenek swam on the 200-medley and 400-medley relays. She earned Academic All-WAC honors for the third straight year.
2011-12 (Junior): Bezenek illustrated her versatility as a junior and competed in six individual events and specialized in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. At the 2012 WAC Championships, she recorded a season-best time in the 100 fly (1:07.89). Bezenek scored for the Aggies and finished in 13th place, which is her personal-best showing at the conference meet. She also posted season-best times in the 50 free (25.22), 100 breast (1:07.89) and 200 fly (2:12.64) at the WAC meet. Bezenek had her second top 25 finish at the meet after she finished in 22nd place in the 100 breast. She was also a member of several Aggie relay teams including the 200-free, 400-free, 200-medley and 400-medley relays. Bezenek was named to the Academic All-WAC team for the second consecutive season.
2010-11 (Sophomore): In her sophomore campaign, Bezenek specialized in butterfly and sprint freestyle events. She set lifetime-best times in a pair of events at the WAC Championships. Bezenek posted a 57.26 time in the 100 fly and finished in 18th place and a 24.86 performance in the 50 free at the WAC meet. Bezenek earned Academic All-WAC honors for her work in the classroom.
2009-10 (Freshman): In her first season in the Crimson and White, Bezenek competed in the butterfly and sprint freestyle events for the Aggies. At the 2010 WAC Championships, NM State finished with a school-best second-place showing, and Bezenek posted season-best times in the 100 fly (58.38), 50 free (25.23) and 100 free (55.45), and she finished 23rd in the 100 fly. Bezenek also contributed to the Aggie relays. She also earned Academic All-WAC Freshman/Transfer team honors.
High School: Bezenek joined the Aggies from Ketchikan, Alaska, where she swam for head coach Martin Reichgott and the Ketchikan Killer Whale swim club. She set three records at Ketchikan High School in Ketchikan, Alaska. Bezenek was a first team all-district selection in the 100 fly and 200 IM for the Kings. She also finished in the top 7 at state in the 100 fly, 500 free and 200 IM as a freshman. Bezenek was a four-time state qualifier, and as a senior, she competed in six events (50 free, 100 fly, 200 IM, 200-medley relay, 200-free relay and 400-free relay). Her junior campaign at state consisted of four events (100 fly, 200 IM, 200-medley relay, 200-free relay), while she also swam in four events at the state meet as a sophomore (100 fly, 500 free, 200-medley relay, 200-free relay). In her freshman year, Bezenek qualified for state in three events (100 fly, 200-medley relay, 200-free relay).
Personal: She is the daughter of Clay and Lisa Bezenek and was born in Bellevue, Wash. Bezenek is majoring in biology.
