2017-18 (JUNIOR): During the opening meet of the season against Northern Colorado, McAlpin placed second when she posted 2:12.36 in the 200-yard IM… Notched first-place in the 200 fly (2:08.31) against Idaho… Finished first in the 100 backstroke with a 59.96 versus CSU-Pueblo… Earned NM State Swimming and Diving Captain’s Award…Set a personal record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:26.74… Academic All-WAC honoree…
2016-17 (SOPHOMORE):Â Set four personal records at the Western Athletic Conference Championship meet... Swam 57.16 in the 100-yard backstroke for a 19th place finish, and 2:00.79 in the 200-yard backstroke, which was good to make the finals for the first time and placed seventh at the end... Clocked in at 2:06.96 in the 200-yard fly finishing in 15th place, and 2:08.03 in the 200-yard IM.
2015-16 (FRESHMAN): At the Western Athletic Conference Championships, finished 21st in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.32… Finished 19th in the 100 back with a time of 57.94… Finished 10th in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.41, a personal best.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Sandra Day O’Connor High School... Swam with coach Derek Howorth and Alamo Area Aquatics Association... High school best times of 57.48 (100back), 2:05.57 (200back) and 59.09 (100fly).
PERSONAL:Â From San Antonio, TX... Participated in several pageants and was awarded Miss Teen Texas Runner Up during her senior year of high school... Daughter of Jim and Lovetta McAlpin and has a sister, Abby... Majoring in broadcast journalism.
