Biography
2008-09 (Senior): In her final season with the Aggies, Bowles was a team captain for the second consecutive season. At the 2009 WAC Championships, she set a lifetime-best mark in the 100 free (53.45). Bowles also recorded season-best times in the 50 free (25.02) and 100 fly (1:01.70). She was an Academic All-WAC selection for the third straight season.
2007-08 (Junior): As a team captain, Bowles not only was a freestyle and butterfly specialist, but was also a leader for the Aggies. She was a consistent performer in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly. Bowles set her season-best times in the sprint freestyle events at the WAC Championships. She also recorded her lifetime-best time (1:00.22) in the 100 fly with a 23rd-place finish at the conference meet. Her showing in the 100 fly was almost a five-second improvement. Bowles posted her best finishes in the 50 and 100 free with a third-place and fourth-place finish, respectively, against Grand Canyon/Texas Permian Basin (Dec.1). She was also successful in the classroom and was named to the Academic All-WAC team for the second consecutive season.
2006-07 (Sophomore): In her second season with the Aggies, Bowles added needed depth in the freestyle and butterfly events. At the WAC Championships, Bowles placed 20th in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.18. She also finished 23rd in the 100 free with a time of 54.93. Bowles was named to the Academic All-WAC team.
2005-06 (Freshman): Bowles placed 19th in the 100 fly, 21st in the 100 backstroke and 23rd in the 200 individual medley at the WAC Championships. She was also an Academic All-WAC Freshmen team honoree.
High School: Bowles is a graduate of Millennium High School in Piedmont, Calif.
Personal: Bowles was born in Walnut Creek, Calif., and is the daughter of Julie Bowles. She is majoring in kinesiology.
