2014-15 (JUNIOR): Madero kept up her tradition as a fly and middle distance freestyler for the Aggies during her Junior year and helped during dual meet action through her great diversity.
At the WAC Championship meet she finish 23rd in the 200fly, 22nd in the 200 free, and recorded a personal best in the 100 fly finishing 19th with a time of 57.89.
2013-14 (SOPHOMORE): Madero continued to improve her times as a butterfly and freestyle specialist during her sophomore year. She swam every meet of the season and swam seven different events, including the 100 fly, 100 free, 200 fly, 200 free, 500 free, 1,000 free and 1,650 free. She also was part of the 200-free, 200-medley, 400-free and 400-medley relay teams. In a three-way meet versus PAC-12 members Arizona and Oregon State (Jan. 3), Madero swam the third leg of the NM State 400-free relay team that touched the wall in first place.
Madero’s best event throughout the season was the 100 fly where she finished in fourth place on four different occasions. She swam her personal lifetime-best in the 100 fly during the preliminary round at the Phil Hansel Invitational in Houston (Nov. 21), a time of 57.95. She also had her lifetime-best time in the 1,650 free in Houston after finishing in 17:34.47. Versus Northern Arizona (Dec. 7), Madero marked points for the Aggies in two events after recording one of her fourth-place finishes in the 100 fly and also finishing in third place in the 1,000 free with a lifetime-best time of 10:52.15. She then marked a lifetime-best time in the 100 free after finishing with a time of 54.82 against New Mexico (Feb. 1).
Madero concluded her season as she had the season before, with three top-25 finishes at the WAC Championships (Feb. 26-Mar. 1). She finished in 15th place in the 200 free with a finals’ time of 1:53.61. Her preliminary time of 1:52.35 broke her career best. She also finished in 17th place in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:36.63 and in 24th place in the 200 fly with a time of 2:14.89. Madero also competed in the 500 free at the WAC Championships, and although she did not reach the finals of the event, her preliminary time of 5:01.90 was also a personal best.
2012-13 (FRESHMAN): Madero was a freestyle and butterfly specialist in her freshman season. At the 2013 WAC Championships, Madero posted three top 25 finishes. She was 22nd in the 100 fly and 24th in both the 200 fly and 1,650 free. Madero recorded lifetime-best times in the 100 fly (58.21), 200 fly (2:08.70) and 1,650 free (18:03.11) at the WAC meet. She also set a personal-best time in the 500 free (5:11.96) at the Houston Invitational (Nov. 15-17).
HIGH SCHOOL: A hometown product, Madero joined the Aggies from Las Cruces High School. She was an All-American in the 400-free relay as a sophomore in 2010. With the Bulldawgs, Madero was a state champion in 400 free in 2012, 200-medley relay in 2011 and 400-free relay in 2010. She was a district record holder in the 200 individual medley and 500 free in 2011 and 200-medley and 400-free relays in 2008-12. At Las Cruces, Madero earned five letters in swimming and helped the team to five district championships, and a runner-up finish at state in 2012 and third-place finishes at state in 2011 and 2010. Her personal-best times were 1:54.06 in the 200 free, 5:09.11 in the 500 free and 58.21 in the 100 fly.
PERSONAL: Born in Las Cruces, Madero is the daughter of Ruben Madero and Yvonne Madero. She is majoring in animal science.
