2009-10 (Senior): In her final season with the Aggies, Bain competed in the backstroke and freestyle events in addition to the relay events. She helped NM State record its best finish in school history at the 2010 WAC Championships with a second-place showing. At the conference meet, Bain posted season-best times in the 50 free (24.24), 100 free (53.48) and 100 back (57.92). She scored with an eighth-place finish in the 100 back while she anchored the 200-medley relay that collected third place following a season-best time (1:43.88). Bain also swam the final leg of the 200-free relay (1:35.29) that was sixth at the WAC meet. In the regular season at Boise State (Jan. 30), she claimed her best finishes taking second in the 50 free and third in the 100 back along with second place in the 200-free relay. Against Idaho (Jan. 2) in the final home of her career, Bain guided the Aggies to a win in the 400-free relay. As a member of the 200-medley relays versus Northern Arizona/Northern Colorado (Oct. 31) and at New Mexico/Wyoming (Nov. 14), she anchored the squad to a pair of second-place finishes. Additionally, Bain was named to the Academic All-WAC team for the third consecutive season.
2008-09 (Junior): Bain was a vital member of the Aggies as a freestyle and backstroke specialist in her junior campaign. She was also a significant component on the relay teams that set four school records at the 2009 WAC Championships. Bain swam leadoff on the 200-free relay (1:33.55) and the second leg of the 400-free relay (3:26.12), both of which finished fifth. As the anchor of the 200-medley (1:41.81) and 400-medley (3:44.98) relays, Bain and the Aggies collected a pair of third-place finishes. Individually, she was eighth in the 50 free, 10th in the 100 back and 14th in the 100 free at the WAC meet. In the regular season, Bain recorded a second-place finish in the 100 back and a third-place showing in the 50 free at Northern Arizona (Dec. 6). She also finished third in the 100 back at Loyola Marymount (Dec. 19). Bain was named to the Academic All-WAC team.
Spring 2008: Bain qualified for the Canadian Olympic Trials after making the Canadian National cuts at the Human Performance Labs All-American Long Course Championships in Austin, Texas, March 6-8. Along with fellow Canadian Stephanie Peacock, Bain competed at the Canadian Olympic Trials in Montreal, Canada, April 1-6, 2008. She earned a coveted spot at the trials after finishing in the top 16 in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.66.
2007-08 (Sophomore): Bain made a significant impact in the sprint freestyle and backstroke events for the Aggies as a sophomore. At the WAC Championships, she finished in the top 15 in three individual events and was a member of both the 200-free (1:34.91) and 400-free (3:28.00) relays that set school records. Bain recorded her best finish in the 50 free with a 10th-place showing (23.97) and she was also 11th in the 100 back (57.85) and 13th in the 200 back (2:07.21). In addition, Bain set a season-best time in the 100 free (52.43) at the conference meet. At the UNLV Winter Invitational (Dec. 15-17), Bain not only competed in the finals of the 100 free, 100 back and 200 back, but she was also part of the 200-free relay that finished fourth en route to tying the school record, which then fell at the WAC meet. Against North Texas (Jan. 8), she finished third in the 50 free before she placed second in the 200 back and third in the 100 back at Nevada (Jan. 17). Bain then collected a second-place showing in the 100 back at Boise State (Jan. 19). In the victory at New Mexico (Jan. 31), she tied for second in the 50 free and was third in the 100 back. Against Northern Arizona in the regular season finale (Feb. 2), Bain finished second in 100 back and third in the 50 free. She was an Academic All-WAC team honoree.
2006-07 (Freshman): In her first season with the Aggies, Bain excelled for NM State. On the second day of the WAC Championships (Feb. 16), Bain recorded the WAC’s 18th-best time in the 100 back as she touched in a time of 59.60. Bain posted the team’s fourth-best time in the 200 back as she finished at 2:11.88 on the first day of the UNLV Winter Invitational. In the 50 free, Bain set the team’s fourth-best mark of the year as she finished 20th at the WAC meet in a time of 24.34. Bain also held the team’s third-best placing in the 100 free, touching in a time of 53.28 at the conference championships. She was named to the Academic All-WAC Freshmen team.
High School: Before coming to NM State, Bain swam for the Newmarket Stingrays under head coach Alan Swanston. With the Stingrays, Bain led her team to a fourth-place finish at the provincial championships. She was the high point swimmer in the central region and was a multiple qualifier for the junior and senior provincial. Bain placed second in the 4x50 freestyle and the medley relay at the junior provincials. She was also a multiple event qualifier for the Eastern Canadian Championships.
Personal: Bain was born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, and is the daughter of Doug Lunau and Sylvia Harrison. She is studying psychology.
