Biography
Senior (2014-15): Fall: Started her senior campaign 8-4 in singles play and 2-5 in doubles...opened singles action with two wins before falling to Vivienne Kulicke of UTEP in the championship match of the Aggie Invitational 6-4, 6-2…defeated New Mexico’s No. 1 singles player Dominique Dulski 6-0, 6-3 to reach the finals…ousted No. 8 Baylor’s top singles player 6-4, 6-2 in the consolation finals at the Rice Invitational…advanced to the round of 32 at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships with a gritty 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 victory over No. 9 Virginia’s Maci Epstein…reached the round of 16 at the USTA/ITA Mountain Regional Championships…defeated Demi Daniels (BYU) 6-1, 6-2 in round of 128, Maria Tavares (Idaho) 6-4, 6-0 in the round of 64 and Megan LaLone of Boise State 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32…paired up with Rimpledeep Kaur for a pair of wins at the Aggie Invitational before falling in the semifinal.
Junior (2014-15): Shrivastav had a breakout junior campaign, going 22-9 in singles play – all at the No. 1 position – and 18-9 in doubles action…started her year off with five-straight victories in singles action before falling in the round of 64 in the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships to No. 14 Alabama’s Erin Routliffe, who was ranked 21st in the country during that time, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4…followed with four-straight wins at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships before falling to Tereza Bekerova of Utah 7-5, 6-1 in the semifinals…helped guide NM State to a 4-1 mark in Western Athletic Conference play, ousting her opponents in all four matches...defeated katia Stavroulaki of UT-Pan American 6-1, 6-0 to clinch NM State its first WAC Tournament title earn its first-ever trip to the NCAAs…won six-straight doubles matches with fellow countryman Rimpledeep Kaur (4) and Denise Van Der Ben during non-conference play…also went 4-1 in conference play with lone loss coming to Grand Canyon’s pair, 8-4…earned ITA All-Academic Award for the second-straight year…also earned Academic All-WAC distinction for the second-straight year.
Sophomore (2013-14): Had a huge year for the Aggies tennis team after not playing her freshman season at NM State...went 15-5 in singles matches with two wins against nationally ranked teams... On Feb. 7, played against No. 50 UNLV and went on to win the match 7-6, 6-0...later in the season, defeated No. 21 Rice 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 on March 1...her season’s success saw an 11-game win streak, defeating her opponents in straight sets in 8 of those matches...also posted two wins against school rivals, playing at UTEP with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 win and a home win against New Mexico, 7-6, 6-4...had a great season playing in doubles as well, ending the season with a 12-7 record...paired up with Annemieke Witte for all 12 wins playing 14 games at the number 3 position on the team...the duo saw two matches against nationally ranked UNLV (58) and Rice (21) and saw a victory on Feb. 7 against UNLV, 6-3...the doubles team won their last game against Seattle U on Apr. 28 8-3 at the No. 2 position...earned the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Award for the first time...was also named to the Academic All-WAC list for the 2014 season.
2012-13:Â Did not compete during the 2012-13 season per NCAA rules.
Prior to NM State: Competed on the junior circuit and was ranked first in native country of India...also ranked as high as second in India in women's tennis...ranked 653 in singles competition and 707 in doubles competition in the WTA...won an international doubles title in Istanbul and earned the Best Player of India award three times.Â
Personal: Is from Gwalior, MP, India, where she attended the National Open School of India...is the daughter of Dr. Sanjay and Dr. Urvashi Shrivastav and is majoring in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at NM State.
