Biography
Sophomore (2008-2009): Discordia won all five of her singles matches in straight sets as she finished the year with a 5-6 record. She had a 2-4 record playing at the fifth position and was 3-2 at No. 6. She won two consecutive matches, April 4-11, and was 2-0 in conference singles play. Discordia and doubles partner Paulina Zuniga were 1-4 together. In fall singles play, Discordia had a 4-2 record. Those four wins were the second most on the team and her two losses tied for the fewest by an Aggie.
Freshman (2007-08): Discordia saw action on the courts in both the fall tournament and spring dual match seasons as a freshman. She went 2-3 in spring singles action all at the No. 6 position and was 5-3 in doubles play at No. 3 with teammate Anne Fagegaltier. She won her only conference regular season singles match of the year and she did not lose a game that her 6-0, 6-0 win over Utah State’s Tracy Johnson. In the 2008 WAC Championships, Discordia and Fagegaltier won their No. 3 doubles match over Hawai’i to help the Aggies take the doubles point and move on to the semifinals. In the fall tournament season Discordia and doubles partner Aleksa Costa won the Flight Two Doubles Championship at the Miner Fall Invite on Sept. 23, which was her first fall competition. Combining the fall and spring seasons, she posted a 9-8 singles record and a 12-7 doubles record.
Prior to NM State: Discordia comes from Zagreb, Croatia and follows former Aggie greats Roman Stoisavljevic and Zeljka Juricek, who also hailed from Croatia. She graduated from Sportska Gimnazija High School and her national team was ranked No. 2 in the nation. She has played in 20 ETA and ITF tournaments, three of which were in the United States (Prince Cup, Eddie Herr and the Orange Bowl).
Personal: Discordia is the daughter of Vesna Slivnik and Olivio Doscordia and she was born in Zagreb, Croatia.
