Biography

Junior (2010-11): Sylvain became the first Aggie named to the WAC All-Tournament Team during her junior campaign. She finished the year compiling 11 wins, all during the spring dual season. Sylvain played primarily at the top of the singles lineup with a 4-4 mark and 6-4 record in the No. 2 slot. In WAC play, Sylvain compiled a 4-4 overall record. In doubles, Sylvain posted an 9-11 dual match record overall going 3-5 in the top slot and 6-6 at the No. 2 spot. She paired up with Jodie Williams for most of the season. Together they posted 10 victories. Sylvain also earned a spot on the WAC All-Academic Team for the second straight season.

Sophomore (2009-10):  Sylvain compiled a hefty resume of awards and honors in 2010.  Sylvain was named to the 2010 Second Team All-WAC Doubles, 2010 Academic All-WAC, and a 2010 ITA Scholar Athlete.  Sylvain compiled a record of 14-15 during her sophomore year.  Sylvain split even in most of her matches, going 11-11 in dual matches and 3-3 in conference matches.  Sylvain was the only Aggie to play in five different positions throughout the course of the season.  Sylvain won both her doubles match and singles match against 45-ranked San Diego University on Feb. 5, 2010.  Sylvain's best stretch of the season was in March when she went 5-2 in the entire month, which included victories over rivals UTEP and UNM.  Sylvain was named the WAC Player of the Week on March 17 due to her success.  Sylvain was recognized on the All-WAC doubles second team.     

Freshman (2008-09): Sylvain red-shirted her freshman year.

Prior to NM State: Sylvain competed in many international tournaments and played in the individual French Champion­ship three times while also winning several league titles. She was selected to represent France at the Nike Tour Tournament in Paris, where she made it to the semifinals. In the International Tourna­ment of Passy, she made it to the finals and she was a member of a tennis academy in Nimes, France, for five years.
