Biography
Junior (2006-07): Juricek battled injuries the entire spring dual match season, but still competed at the No. 1 singles position for the Aggies where she posted a 9-13 record. From Feb. 16-24, she won five out of six singles matches. She and Nicole Fintell teamed up the entire spring in doubles action, going 8-11 together. They were 4-7 at the No. 1 doubles position and 4-4 at the second spot. In the fall tournament season, she and Fintell made it to the championship match at the Texas Tech Scarborough Specialties Open after winning four straight matches. Juricek went 6-2 with Fintell in the fall and 1-1 with Estelle Guillaumond. Her overall singles record from the fall and spring was 10-18 and she was 15-14 in doubles play.
Prior to NMSU: At Syracuse University, Juricek complied an overall singles record of 5-7 with a 7-4 doubles mark for the Orange. Prior to starting her collegiate career, she was ranked No. 3 in the Croatian Tennis Federation (under 18) and finished second with the tennis club ?Mladost-Zagreb’ in the National Tennis League. She won several junior tournaments in Croatia and was a member of the Tennis Academy ?Aranxta Sanchez Viario’ for a year as well as the Tennis Club ?Medvescak’ before coming to the United States.
Personal: Juricek was born in Zagreb, Croatia and is the daughter of Sonja and Zeljko Juricek. She is majoring in individualized studies.
