Originally from Omaha, Neb., Bart Miller begins his first season with the Aggies as the team’s offensive graduate assistant, working primarily with the offensive line.
A 2003 graduate of Elk Grove (Illinois) High School, Miller was a starter and two-year letterman for the University of New Mexico on the offensive line from 2003-07, earning Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors as a junior and senior. A part of four bowl teams, Miller played right guard for the 2007 UNM team that had a 1,000-yard rusher, two 1,000-yard receivers and a 3,000-yard passer. The Lobos finished 9-4 and won the school’s first bowl game since 1961.
Miller joins the NM State coaching staff after a career with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL. Miller was a part of a Blackhawks organization that enjoyed one of the greatest turnarounds ever in professional sports, finishing with a berth in the Western Conference Finals in 2009.
Miller graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and a minor in business. He started graduate school at UNM in sports administration and is currently working on his master’s degree in education at NM State.
