As a member of the department's executive leadership team, he plays a key role in long-term strategic planning, resource allocation, capital projects, and operational efficiencies that support the success of Aggie Athletics.

Prior to joining New Mexico State, Crawford served in athletics leadership at Georgia Southwestern State University as Senior Associate Director of Athletics. In that role, he managed department-wide budgeting and financial planning for all intercollegiate sports while leading numerous facility enhancement projects. His oversight included renovations and upgrades to athletic venues, locker rooms, recruiting spaces, strength and conditioning facilities, film rooms, hospitality areas, and other student-athlete support spaces.

In addition to his administrative accomplishments, Crawford built a successful coaching career. He served as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Georgia Southwestern, where he led the Hurricanes to sustained success within the Peach Belt Conference. Under his leadership, the program earned multiple postseason appearances, produced numerous All-Conference selections, and established new program records for conference and overall wins in a season.

Before becoming a head coach, Crawford spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Northeastern State University, helping guide the RiverHawks to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, a Central Region Championship, and multiple Top 25 national rankings. During his tenure, NSU developed several All-Americans and All-Region performers.

Individually, he earned NCAA Division II All-America honors and became NSU's first finalist for the prestigious MIAA Ken B. Jones Award, recognizing the conference's top male student-athlete. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the soccer program and his achievements as both a student-athlete and athletics leader, Crawford was inducted into the Northeastern State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2026.
