Samson Kayode joined the New Mexico State men's basketball team in January 2010 as the video coordinator. His responsibilities include all video operations and other daily administrative tasks for the Aggies.

In his third season with the Aggies in 2011-12, NM State won its second WAC Tournament Championship in three years en route to earning its 19th NCAA Tournament berth. The Aggies finished with a 26-10 record and the most wins in a season since 1992-93. NM State ranked No. 3 in the NCAA in rebounding margin (+8.5), No. 11 in scoring offense (78.1 points per game), No. 25 in field goal percentage (47.4 percent) and No. 27 in scoring margin (+9.8). The Aggies also led the WAC in scoring offense, scoring margin, rebounding margin and 3-point field goal percent defense (32.3 percent).

In his second season in Las Cruces, the Aggies finished third in the WAC (9-7) with a 16-17 overall record in 2010-11. NM State set a school record with a 12-game WAC home win streak that dated back to the 2009-10 season. Nationally, the Aggies ranked No. 73 in 3-point field goal defense (32.6 percent) and No. 89 in scoring offense (71.6 points per game). Additionally, NM State paced the WAC in scoring in league games (72.5 points per game).

In June 2011, Kayode was the video coordinator and assisted with team operations for the USA Basketball Camp under 16 men's team that won the gold medal at the Under-16 FIBA Tournament in Cancun, Mexico.

In his first season at NM State, the Aggies won the 2010 WAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time in school history. In summer 2010, he worked as a member of the support staff at the USA Basketball Camp in San Antonio, Texas, with the under 17 and 18 men's team through tryouts. Kayode was then the assigned video coordinator for the squad that defeated Brazil for the gold medal at the Under-18 FIBA Tournament.

Prior to arriving in Las Cruces, Kayode spent two seasons as the head team manager at Morgan State from 2006-08 and one season in basketball operations in 2008-09. In that stint, the Bears won the 2008 and 2009 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular season titles and 2009 MEAC Tournament crown along with a NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009. Kayode was also a team manager for the Bears in the 2005-06 season.

Kayode earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from Morgan State in December 2007 and is currently pursing a master's degree in curriculum and instruction at NM State.
