This is Salazar’s second season with NM State.  Salazar’s duties include distributing maintaining all equipment, as well as helping with practice and team drills.
He graduated from Irvin High School in El Paso, Texas where he played baseball and led his team to a district championship in 2003.  He was named Mr. Baseball that year as he led the all high schools in El Paso in RBI and batting average and hit 12 homeruns.  Salazar went on to play at Galveston College under coach Ruben Felix for one year, before heading to El Paso Community College to play for Gerard Pinada for one year.  He finished playing at the College of the Southwest under coach Michael Galvan where he earned the team Offensive MVP during the 2006-07 season.
