NM State Loses a Tough One to Georgia

Aggies outscored in each event to lose on the final day in Athens, Ga.

Athens, Ga. – The New Mexico State equestrian team fell to Georgia on the final day of competition in Athens, Ga.  The squad was outscored in each of the four events and ended up losing with a final score of 17-2.
 
After getting shutout in equitation on the flat and horsemanship, the Aggies fell behind 9-0. Competing in equitation over fences, Madison Brayman salvaged the only point for NM State with a personal score of 79.0.
 
The final event, reining, saw the Aggies drop 4-1. The sole point was captured by Kimmy Ferrante with a score of 70.0. Ferrante's performance in the event earned her Most Outstanding Player.
 
As the Aggies look to regroup, their next competition will take place at home against West Texas A&M, Nov. 11.
