WACO, Texas – The NM State equestrian team concluded the 2016 season as they fell 10-6 to sixth-seeded TCU on Thursday in Round One of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championship.
The Aggies fell 5-3 in the hunter seat events. The team tied 2-2 in equitation on the flat as
Karianna Knezevich scored a 130 and
Madison Brayman scored a 131 to each garner a point for the Aggies.
NM State fell 3-1 in equitation over fences. Knezevich also scored a 162 in that event to earn a point for the Aggies.
The team dropped a 5-3 decision in the western events.
Morgan Matzdorff scored a 146.5 to collect a point for NM State as they fell 3-1 in horsemanship.
The Aggies then tied 2-2 in reining.
Kimberly Ferrante had a 137 and
Haley Newkirk scored a 133.5 to each earn a point in the event.
