Josh Bermann

Josh Bermann begins his third season as an offensive graduate assistant with the New Mexico State football program in 2019.

Bermann spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock University. While at SRU, he worked with the offensive line, tight ends and running backs. Bermann also assisted the offensive coordinator in weekly game planning.

During his first season, Bermann helped the Rock to a 12-2 finish in 2015 with a perfect 7-0 mark at home. SRU advanced to the Division II NCAA quarterfinals that year, which tied with the 1998 team for the best record in school history.

Before his second stint at Slippery Rock, Bermann served as assistant coach at Ohio Northern University in 2014. Bermann worked with the tight ends and halfbacks while preparing weekly scouting reports during his time at ONU. While at Ada, Ohio, he helped the Polar Bears go 7-3 during the 2014 campaign, the most wins in a single season since going 10-2 in 2010.

Bermann began his coaching career at Slippery Rock in January of 2013 as a strength and conditioning intern for the football team before being named an assistant coach that summer.

The Youngstown, Ohio, native got his start in collegiate athletics at Youngstown State in 2012 where he served as a strength and conditioning intern before making his first stop at Slippery Rock.

Bermann played college football at Grove City College from 2009-12 on the offensive line and was named a team captain in 2012. His collegiate playing career culminated in him earning first-team all-conference and third-team all-region honors as a senior.

Bermann graduated from Grove City College in 2013 with a degree in exercise science.
