MONROE, La. – The NM State football team is set to take on ULM on Saturday in the season finale at 1 p.m. MT at JPS Field at Malone Stadium. The game will air on ESPN3 and will be broadcast on AM 570.
The Aggies are coming off a 52-28 loss to Arkansas State on Senior Day last Saturday night. NM State put points on the board first as
Jordan Bergstrom caught a 46-yard pass from
Andrew Allen for a 7-0 advantage on the first drive. Arkansas State then scored three touchdowns in a row before the home team responded with a touchdown to open the second quarter. Again, Allen connected with Bergstrom for a 12-yard pass and the score. The Red Wolves tacked on three more touchdowns before Allen threw a 60-yard touchdown pass, this time to
Gregory Hogan. The visiting team added a field goal and another touchdown before
Nick Jeanty found
Teldrick Morgan in the end zone with 2:11 left in the game for the final score.
Bergstrom had a career-high in both touchdowns and receiving yards with two and 110, respectively, on just four catches. Jacob Nwangwa led the Aggies' defensive efforts with 10 tackles. He currently ranks second on the team with 74 tackles. Nwangwa is tied for a team-high three interceptions on the season and has one forced fumble as well.
