LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State volleyball will open a four-match homestand as they welcome UTEP for the 86th edition of the Battle of I-10 on Wednesday. The match is sponsored by Wells Fargo and is set to start at 7 p.m. at the Pan American Center.

The match will be broadcast live. Fans can watch the match on FOX Sports Arizona (Dish 415, DirecTV 686), FOX College Sports Pacific, Altitude 2, Comcast (Channel 77 in N.M.) and ESPN3.

The Aggies are 61-23-1 all-time against the Miners. In his 19 year tenure at NM State, head coach
Mike Jordan has a 24-7 record against UTEP. In the last 10 years, the Aggies hold a 15-1 record over the Miners. In that time, UTEP has only taken seven sets from NM State, with the Aggies sweeping in straight sets 11 times. Since 2006, the two squads have only played more than three sets five times, with only two going to five sets.

NM State comes home after two sweeps on the road last week against Western Athletic Conference foes CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon. The Aggies are now in sole possession of first place in the WAC with a 4-0 record in conference and an 18-0 streak, which dates back to last season.

This season, UTEP is led offensively by Macey Austin, who has put up 137 kills so far and averages 2.63 per set. Defensively, the Miners look to Kylie Baumgartner and Sarah Villa, who have logged 59 blocks and 315 digs, respectively.
