LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State volleyball will travel to El Paso, Texas on Wednesday, Nov. 23, to take on Battle of I-10 rival, UTEP. The match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. MT
The Aggies are 62-23-1 all-time against the Miners. In his 19 year tenure at NM State, head coach Mike Jordan has a 25-7 record against UTEP. The last match occurred earlier this season on Oct. 5, when NM State swept UTEP, 26-24, 25-23 and 25-15. In the last 10 years, the Aggies hold a 16-1 record over the Miners. In that time, UTEP has only taken seven sets from NM State, with the Aggies sweeping in straight sets 12 times.
To this point in the season, the Aggies look to Jordan Abalos, Ariadnne Sierra and Tatyana Battle, who recently earned WAC Player of the Week honors (Nov. 7). Abalos leads the team with 413 kills (3.75 kills/set) and Battle is close behind with 369 (3.32 kills/set). Sierra paces the squad in digs. (4.56 digs/set).
