Chris Jans and his team looks to take down another Mountain West Conference foe this Wednesday, Nov. 22, when it entertains Colorado State for a 7 p.m. tip-off in the Pan American Center.

ENTER THE RAMS
Wednesday's foe, Colorado State, enters the contest 2-2 overall. The Rams opened the season with a 72-61 win over Sacramento State before going 1-2 on the weekend in the Jamaica Classic (Nov. 14-19). CSU opened the tournament with a narrow escape against Winthrop 80-76 before falling to Tulane 80-53 and Florida State 90-73.

The Aggies trail the all-time series 5-1 and 1-1 when playing at home. The lone victory for NM State came on Nov. 30, 1968, 95-89.

Prentiss Nixon leads a trio of players who are averaging in double-figures for Colorado State. The 6-1 guard is posting 15 points per game with a .407 shooting clip from downtown with 13 assists. He's also led the Rams in scoring in three of the four games played.

Che Bob and Deion James are both averaging 10.8 points while Bob is posting 8.5 rebounds per game with nine blocks on the year. James is shooting 50-percent from the floor, knocking down 17-of-34 shots and averaged 4.3 boards.

J.D. Paige rounds out the scoring leaders for CSU with 9.5 points per game while big-man Nico Carvacho, a 6-11 center, is averaging 7.0 points and 12.0 rebounds. His 48 rebounds so far on the year ties him for eighth nationally through games on the Nov. 19.

Colorado State has struggled in the first half and have been outscored 155-116. However, the Rams have outscored opponents 162-152 in the second half. Foes are also shooting 43.5-percent from the field against CSU, including a .391 clip from beyond the arc. Colorado State has been consistent on the boards and have out-rebounded its opponents 171-140.

Jemerrio Jones leads the country in offensive rebounds with 7.0 per game (21 total) his 8.0 defensive rebounds per game (24 total) has him tied for 25th in the country. The 6-5 forward is also second in the NCAA with a 15.0 rebounding average and tied for 12th with 45 total rebounds. In the scoring column,
Zach Lofton is 23rd in the country with 23.7 points per game.

New Mexico State gave first-year head coach
Chris Jans a taste of what the rivalry was all about last Friday, as the Aggies took down Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico for the second-straight year 75-56.
Zach Lofton led all scorers with a whopping 28 points on 9-of-18 shooting while
Sidy N'Dir and
Eli Chuha chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Jemerrio Jones was his usual self, posting seven points with 16 rebounds in the win.

The win gave NM State its second-straight win over the Lobos for the first time since doing so in 2006-07. The Aggies also doubled up the Lobos on the glass, out-rebounding them 50-25, including a 25-9 advantage on the offensive glass.
