LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State softball travels to Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on the Huskers in a three game weekend series. The series starts with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 18, with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. (MT).
"Everything we do in Aggie Softball is about preparing us to play our best softball when it matters most," head coach
Kathy Rodolph said. "The next six games on the road will give us great experience that will prove valuable if we approach it in the right way. We want to make sure we stick to our guns and play like the team we know we are capable of becoming."

STEAL CITY
Rachel Rodriguez is fourth all-time at NM State for career stolen bases. The junior has 12 this season and 59 steals in her career. She also ranks 35th in the NCAA for active career stolen bases.
MEAN GREEN
Kayla Green pitched a complete game in an 8-0 victory over UNM. The sophomore allowed five hits and struck out three in her first shutout of the season. Green posts a 3.31 ERA and a 5-6 record this season.
EXTRA! EXTRA!
The Aggies are undefeated in extra-inning games this season. New Mexico State won both games against Southern Illinois in the ninth inning. In the first meeting,
Merina Ili hit a walk-off single to score the lone run of the game. New Mexico State put up three runs in the ninth inning in the second game and closed out the victory with a double play.

LAST TIME OUT
NM State hit two home runs in its 8-0 shutout victory over I-25 rival New Mexico.
Kelsey Horton hit her fourth homer of the season in the third inning.
Nikki Butler hit her first collegiate home run, a two-run homer, to give the Aggies the 8-0 victory in the fifth inning.
KNOW YOUR FOE: NEBRASKA
Nebraska enters the series with a 4-16 record this season. The Huskers enter their home opener trying to snap a four-game losing streak. Nebraska was swept in a three-game series at No. 21 Arizona State their last time on the field. NU is 14-1 in home openers at Bowlin Stadium including winning 11 straight.
The Huskers lead the all-time series between the teams 14-6. NU had won nine straight until the last meeting in 2015 when the NM State won 16-11.
Haley Nakamura had four runs in the game.
COMING UP
Following the weekend series with the Huskers, NM State travels take on Omaha in an afternoon game on Tuesday, March 21. First pitch is set for noon. (MT). The Aggies end their six game road trip by taking on Arizona State in a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 22. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. (MT).
