LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Former New Mexico State football player Cory Lucas joins the Aggie Sports Network as an analyst for the 2017 football season.
Â
"I am extremely honored to be able to call the football games with the voice of the Aggies,
Jack Nixon," Lucas said. "As a former Aggie football player and graduate, this is going to be an awesome experience being able to watch my Aggies play and offer my insights during radio broadcasts. I greatly appreciate the opportunity."
Â
Lucas joins US Bank/NM State Hall of Famer
Jack Nixon on the broadcast and replaces former NM State wide receiver Preston Williams, who stepped down to spend more time with family.
Â
"I want to welcome Cory to our game day broadcast team," Director of Athletics
Mario Moccia said. "Having a former Aggie player as an analyst will be a great addition to Jack's play-by-play."
Â
The Albuquerque, N.M., native started as a quarterback when he joined the Aggies in 1995 before playing as a running back in the 1998-99 seasons. While in Las Cruces, Lucas saw action in 29 games and scored a trio of touch downs – two from the ground and once through the air.
Â
NM State Aggie fans can listen to Lucas for the first time live on NM State's flagship station this Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7:30 p.m. (MT) on 99.5 Zia Country and its affiliates or on the TuneIn app when the Aggies open the 2017 campaign at Arizona State.
