LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Friday morning, HERO Sports announced the 2025 Group of Five All-American Teams and a pair of Aggies have earned recognition. Both defensive lineman
Ezra Christensen and tight end
Gavin Harris were awarded third team honors following stellar individual seasons at NM State.
This marks the first time in program history that an Aggie has been recognized as a HERO Sports Group of Five All-American. Additionally, Harris and Christensen are two of 13 Conference USA players listed on the all-American teams. Last week, Harris and Christensen were also the lone Aggies to be named First Team All-Conference USA this season.
For
Ezra Christensen, this marks the second national award of the week after he was also named a First Team All-American by Pro Football and Sport Network on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The interior defensive lineman served as one of the Aggies' top defensive performers in his debut season with the Aggies and ultimately paced the Crimson and White in sacks (6), quarterback hurries (10) and tackles for loss (11). His year was highlighted by a dominant six-game stretch in which he recorded all six of his sacks, nine tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
Meanwhile,
Gavin Harris turned in one of the best seasons by a tight end at the FBS level this season, finishing 10
th in the nation and first in the conference in receiving yards (531) by a tight end while pacing all CUSA tight ends in total receptions with 37. In his first season with the Aggies, the Central Michigan transfer managed at least three catches in all but three games this season, including recording a season-high six snags for 97 yards against rival New Mexico.
