Huntley Named Phil Steele All-American

NM State football’s Jason Huntley was named a Phil Steele Fourth-Team All-American on Tuesday.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State football player Jason Huntley had a strong junior season that featured the versatile back producing over 500 yards rushing, receiving and on special teams along with an NCAA-leading three kickoff return touchdowns. The stellar numbers saw Huntley get named a Phil Steele Fourth-Team All-American on Tuesday.

The junior was all over the field this past season racking up 505 rushing yards, 529 receiving yards and 598 kick return yards to go along with 13 total touchdowns. Huntley's nation-leading three kickoff return touchdowns also gave the Aggie five for his career to set a new all-time program record for career return touchdowns.

This is the first collegiate postseason honor earned by Huntley and the first postseason All-American nod for an NM State player since Rodney Butler was named to the Phil Steele Fourth-Team in 2016. Huntley also joins former teammate Larry Rose III and Aggie legend Pervis Atkins as the only running backs to earn an All-American honor with New Mexico State.
