REDHAWKS ON THE HORIZON
Winners in four its last five contests, the Seattle U Redhawks continue to jockey for position for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament with its latest victory against UT Rio Grande Valley this past Thursday in league action.

In that game, SU had five players reach double-figures – including 4-of-5 starters – in its 85-68 win over the Vaqueros. Morgan Means, who came off the bench, tallied a game-high 19 points while Matej Kavas posted 18 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting. Aaron Menzies, the team's leader in scoring had 15 points and 13 rebounds while Josh Hearlihy and Richaud Gittens added 13 points and 11 points, respectively.

Like Utah Valley, the Redhawks have protected its home floor quite well this season with a 15-2 record between KeyArena and the Connelly Center. Sitting at 7-3 in league play and 18-9 overall, SU is still battling for the No. 2 seed as well as chance at the No. 1 seed should NM State slip in its final four games of league play.

All five starters for Seattle U are averaging in doubles-figures and is led by Kavas at 16.1 points per game. Jordan Hill, the team's leader in assists with 91 is second on the team averaging 13.2 points while Hearily is averaging 12 points. Menzies, the squad's leading rebounder at 8.6 boards per game is fourth on the team in scoring with 11.5 points per game while Gittens completes the list of double-digit scorers with 10.2 points per game. Gittens is also SU's leader in swipes with 35 steals on the year.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite posting one of its better offensive night at Utah Valley, the NM State defense struggled and allowed the Wolverines to a shoot an opponent-high 58.3-percent from the floor – including a season-tying 11 triples to UVU.

Offensively for the Aggies, they assisted on 23-of-31 shots Thursday, which was third-most this season while shooting 55.4-percent from the floor – which is the fourth-best shooting clip this season.

Defensively, a season-high of 12 steals was the only highlight as NM State got out-rebounded for just the fifth time this season 27-25. The Aggies also saw UVU head to the foul line 21 times and knocked down 19 of them while New Mexico State reached the foul line just 15 times while making nine.
