LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State volleyball team hosts the annual Crimson and White scrimmage at the Pan American Center on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 3 p.m. MT. Admission is free for all those in attendance.
NM State enters the 2018 season as the three-time defending Western Athletic Conference regular-season champions. Tatyana Battle, an All-WAC First-Team member in 2017, returns for the Aggies along with fellow senior Briana Ainsworth, who ranks 10th all-time in the Aggie record books for career assists (2,105). Another returning player who earned All-WAC honors is Lia Mosher, a middle blocker who was named to the All-WAC Freshman Team last season. Nine newcomers also join the New Mexico State squad for the 2018 campaign, including Ashley Anselmo, a transfer from Long Beach State.
The Aggies officially open their season in Tempe, Ariz., when they compete in the Sun Devil Classic, hosted by Arizona State. NM State takes on Pacific and the host ASU on Friday, Aug. 24 and close out the tournament with a match against UT Arlington on Aug. 25. New Mexico State's first match in the City of Crosses takes place on Sept. 4, when the team hosts Grambling State. First serve from the home match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
