LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's golf team travels to Tucson, Ariz. to open up the spring season at the Arizona Intercollegiate, Jan. 28-29. The two-day tournament features the Aggies and 15 competitors at the Sewailo Golf Club.
Joining the Aggies on the links are host Arizona, No. 11 Arizona State, No. 9 BYU, Denver, Iowa State, LMU, Long Beach State, New Mexico, St. Mary's, No. 18 Texas A&M, UALR, UCLA, UTEP, UT San Antonio and Washington. The Sewailo GC is a 7,292 yard, par-71 layout that was named one of the best new courses in the country by Golf Digest in 2014.
Traveling for the Aggies starting lineup in the spring opener is
Cooper Donahue,
Ryo Harada,
Mike McGilton,
Niall Powell and
Garrison Smith. McGilton led team play in the fall with a 71.42 stroke average and three top-three finishes through four events with a first-place win at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Oct. 16.
The 54-hole intercollegiate is set to be played over two days. Play tees off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MT on Monday, Jan. 28 for the opening 36 holes. The final round of 18 holes is scheduled for another shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Live scoring for all three rounds of play can be followed on

Following the spring opener, the New Mexico State men's golf team gets set for the Pro Compression Invitational at the Farms Golf Course in San Diego, Calif. from Feb. 11-12.
